Jersey City University, Saint Peter’s University and Hudson County Community College provide higher education to the thousands of students who reside within and outside of the area. NJCU is one of the most diverse college campuses in America and is situated in the midst of Jersey City at 2039 Kennedy Boulevard. Classes are small so they provide a personalized experience for each student. The student-teacher ratio is 12:1 and average class size is 24. The University’s fully accredited colleges of arts and sciences, education and professional studies offer 41 undergraduate degree programs and 28 graduate degree and diploma programs. Apart from its main campus there are two other locations at the Jersey City Waterfront – Harborside Financial Center, 286 Washington St., and NJCU at Wall, Wall Township


St. Peter's University Jersey CitySaint Peter’s University

A Jesuit institution of higher education, and one of 28 universities in the USA founded in the same tradition as Georgetown University. With an undergraduate student ratio of 12-1, Saint Peter’s offers more than 50 undergraduate majors as well as master and doctorate programs. The university is a global center of culture, entertainment, business and professional and career opportunities. Its main campus is located at 2641 JF Kennedy Boulevard.


Hudson County Community College Jersey CityHudson County Community College

A public, comprehensive urban community college offering quality programs that are affordable, accessible and community centered. In addition to day and evening classes, the College provides for studies 7 days a week as well as offering online courses. Its main campus is at 70 Sip Avenue, Journal Square, the other North Hudson Higher Education Center is located in Union City.

Students may pursue courses on 2 campuses both of which are located in close proximity to public transportation hubs. HCCC ranks the 8th largest community college in NJ. It is fully accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. HCCC is known for its culinary Arts Institute. The award winning, nationally recognized CAI curriculum is one of only two programs in the New York region to be accredited by the American Culinary Federation.

McNair Academy Jersey CityDr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School

Ranked 4th within New Jersey, and 50th nationally, Mc Nair Academy offers students the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams (pre college testing.) 99% of students at this institution participate in AP®.

The school is one of 6 high schools in the Jersey City Public Schools and has an enrollment of 694 students and 43 teachers. It is located at 123 Coles Street.


Willliam Dickinson High School Jersey CityWilliam L. Dickinson High School

Students at this school also have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® course work and exams. 21% of the student body participates in AP®. The school has an enrollment of 2377 students and 151 teachers. Although it is not ranked nationally, Dickinson is considered one of the Best Public High Schools in Jersey City. It is located at 2 Palisade Avenue, Jersey City.



Hudson Cathoic High Jersey CityHudson Catholic Regional High School

A 4 year co-educational University preparatory Catholic High School in Jersey City, Hudson Catholic has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools. Advanced placement ® courses are also offered. The school has an enrollment of 396 students and 28.6 teachers. Over 75% of the teachers hold a master’s degree or higher. The school is located at 790 Bergen Avenue.


St Peter's Prep School Jersey CitySt. Peter’s Preparatory School

A private all male Jesuit college-preparatory school located downtown Jersey City at 144 Grand Street. The school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 1930. Students are enrolled from Central and Northern NJ and New York City. St. Peter’s has an enrollment of 950 students and a faculty of 72, including 62 lay teachers, 10 Jesuits, 6 counselors, and 3 college placement counselors.


County Prep High School

County Prep High School operates as part of the Hudson County Schools of Technology and is located at 525 Montgomery Street. Academic courses are aligned to the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards with career clusters including Communication, Medicine and Science, Technological Engineering and Design, Business and the Arts. The enrollment is 612 students and 63.5 classroom teachers.

St Anthony High School Jersey CitySt. Anthony High School

Located at 175 8th Street, St. Antony is a 4 year co-educational Roman Catholic High School operating under the supervision of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 1997. St. Anthony has an enrollment of 238 students and 21 classroom teachers. Also known for its athletic program the boy’s basketball varsity team, coached by Bob Hurley, has been for over 39 years, the most dominant high school team in New Jersey’s history.

The Academy 1 Middle School Jersey CityThe Academy I Middle School

A public middle school at 209 Bergen Avenue, it ranks ahead of many Jersey City Public schools. The school is home to 3 educational programs: The Acceleration and Enrichment Program (the majority of the school’s enrollment are in the AEP), The Bridges Program for local students around the area and the Special Needs Program for students with learning/physical disabilities. Its enrollment is 420 students and 32 faculty staff.



Infinity Institute Jersey CityInfinity Institute

Infinity institute is a public middle school located at 193 Old Bergen Road and serving grades 7 – 10. It caters to the gifted and bright students already in grades 6 through 8 by providing a challenging 21st century-focused curriculum.

Infinity has an enrollment of 123 students and 13 full time teachers. It’s student to teacher ratio of 9:1 is 40% lower than the average public school.



Explore 2000 School Jersey CityExplore 2000 Middle Schools

Explore 2000 is a project based middle school where students get to learn by engaging in different hands-on, student-centered interdisciplinary activities and accelerated learning based on real-life context.

Here, all the students get to pursue their academic interests on their own with the help of many great facilitators. The school is located at 525 Montgomery.



Learning Community School Jersey CityLearning Community Charter School

Located at 2495 Kennedy Boulevard, this charter school serves 492 students in grades K-8. Learning Community offers its students a wide variety of after school enrichment activities. The after school program is called THINK TANK and is available daily.

The program provides homework help and offers a variety of clubs taught by parents and community members

A public middle school at 107 Bright Street with an enrollment of 847 students and 61 full time equivalent teachers. The school is part of the Academic Enrichment Program for Gifted Students.
